Mayor Karl Dean addressed 200 members of WIN (Women in Numbers) at a reception held at his home. His wife, Anne, looks on along with Judge Dan Eisenstein.
WIN is a bi-partisan group dedicated to helping recruit, train and elect qualified women to state and local offices in Tennessee. WIN provides a network of financial support and training to help educate women to the election process.
“WIN’s goal is to recruit, train, educate and support women who choose to run for state and local offices in Tennessee,” explains Laura Tidwell Smith, co-chair for the April 7 event. “Our Spring fundraiser helps provide the funds to host workshops, provide materials and consultation for women who realize they can make a difference in the political arena.”
Mayor Karl Dean chats with Deb Varallo at a meeting of WIN (Women in Numbers) at his home.
Phyllis Williams, also co-chair for the event, added, “We need good qualified women in elected positions to help balance the governing process in Tennessee. We encourage women to attend the event so they will realize WIN can provide them the support and guidance to get elected in Tennessee.”
Founded in 1992, WIN is a bi-partisan organization that endorses female candidates and urges its membership to contribute financially to their campaigns through WIN.
