Dr. John Gibson helped his star patient, Evelyn McDonald, celebrate her 96th birthday surrounded by friends and family. Evelyn's late husband John McDonald was host of Noontime Neighbors for three decades on WSM Radio. A broadcast legend, he was the baron of agriculture --- when John McDonald spoke, farmers listened. On his 25th anniversary with WSM, the Secretary of Agriculture came from Washington to attend his gala dinner. Ernest Tubb and his band were frequent guests on Noontime Neighbors, as was Red Foley. Others attending Evelyn's party were Bebe Willis, Ken Schoen, Larry Stumb,and Babe Young with her daughter Babs.
