State Dems Execs could rule on challenge to Sen. Kurita Sept. 27

Democrat Tim Barnes lost to Clarksville Sen. Rosalind Kurita by 19 votes in the August 7 Democratic primary. Barnes has filed a challenge to Kurita's election citing polling place irregularities. The senator has faced criticism from Democrats for her key role in electing Republican Ron Ramsey speaker of the Senate. The next statewide meeting of the State Democratic Executive Committee is scheduled for Sept. 27.
